Coup attempt thwarted in Burkina Faso!
It has been reported that a coup attempt aimed at destabilizing the country has been thwarted in Burkina Faso.
Mahamadou Sana, the Security Minister of the West African nation of Burkina Faso, announced in a statement on state television that an attack planned for April 16 against the Presidential Palace had been thwarted.
Stating that the preparations for the aforementioned attack were made in Ivory Coast, Sana said that some officers involved in the incident had fled to Abidjan.
Burkina Faso Security Minister Sana stated that arrests have been made regarding the incident, but that the planners of this attempt are in Ivory Coast.
The investigation launched into the incident is ongoing.
