Cuba's response to Trump's remarks
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel responded in a social media post to Trump, who had characterized Cuba as a place where "they would take over the administration in a short time."
Describing the US military attack threats against Cuba as "dangerous" and "unprecedented," Canel issued a call to the international community.
Canel stated the following:
"The international community must take note of this situation and, together with the American people, decide whether such a brutal criminal act should be permitted to satisfy the interests of a small but wealthy and influential group driven by a thirst for revenge and hegemony.
No aggressor, no matter how powerful, will find submission in Cuba. They will encounter a people determined to defend every centimeter of national territory and their independence."
