A cyberattack targeting check-in and boarding systems at several major airports in Europe has negatively impacted passengers' travel plans. Due to system failures, long queues have formed, and delays and cancellations have become inevitable.
CRISIS IN HEATHROW, BRUSSELS, AND BERLIN
According to reports from the US-based CNN, officials at London Heathrow Airport announced that they are experiencing technical difficulties stemming from a cyberattack on systems provided by Collins Aerospace. The statement warned passengers to be prepared for delays.
Brussels Airport announced on its official website that automated systems were disabled following the attack and that operations are being conducted manually. Berlin Airport similarly stated that this Europe-wide issue has led to long wait times at check-in counters.
FRANKFURT AND ZURICH UNAFFECTED
On the other hand, it was stated that Germany's busiest airport, Frankfurt, was not affected by the attack in question. Zurich Airport also announced that its operations are continuing without any issues.
