Damascus administration and YPG/SDF reach agreement

Ahmed al-Shara, head of the newly formed Transitional Government in Syria, met with Ferhat Abdi Şahin, codenamed 'Mazloum Kobani', the ringleader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG (Syrian Democratic Forces).

The meeting addressed the disarmament of the terrorist organization occupying the country's north and its integration into the new Syrian administration. Following the meeting, the Syrian Presidency announced that an agreement had been reached for the transfer of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG to state institutions.

The agreement, signed by al-Shara and the terrorist ringleader Şahin, guarantees the right of all Syrians to be represented in state institutions and participate in political processes based on merit, regardless of their religious or traditional backgrounds. It also recognizes the Kurdish community as an essential part of the Syrian state, with their constitutional citizenship rights and all other rights under state protection.

The agreement, which states that a ceasefire will be declared across all Syrian territory and that hostilities will end immediately, declares: "Civil and military institutions in Northeast Syria (including border crossings, airports, oil wells, and gas fields) will be integrated into the Syrian state administration."

The agreement, which conveys that the safe return of all Syrian refugees to their villages and regions will be ensured and that they will be placed under state protection, states: "The Syrian state will be supported in its fight against all elements that threaten the unity of the country."

The agreement, which includes the statement, "We reject calls for division, hate speech, and attempts to sow discord among all elements of Syrian society," further notes: "Executive committees will continue their work to implement this consensus and aim to complete all steps before the end of this year."
