Death toll from earthquakes in Venezuela rises to 3,535

A statement from the Venezuelan Ministry of Communication and Information reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the earthquakes that occurred in the country on June 24 has risen to 3,535.

As Venezuela tries to heal the wounds of the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that occurred on June 24, the toll of the disaster continues to worsen.

A statement from the Venezuelan Ministry of Communication and Information reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the earthquakes has risen to 3,535. While it was stated that the number of injured remains unchanged at 16,740, it was noted that medical assistance has been provided to 25,016 earthquake victims.

It was emphasized that search and rescue efforts are continuing with the participation of 4,338 international personnel, as well as 29,567 Venezuelan officials and 27,930 volunteers.

The number of damaged buildings was stated as 856, while the number of destroyed buildings was reported as 190.

Additionally, it was announced that 1,048 aftershocks have occurred since the earthquakes on June 24.

VENEZUELA WAS SHAKEN BY 7.2 AND 7.5 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKES

On June 24, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 occurred in Venezuela 39 seconds apart. The earthquakes caused destruction in many regions. In a previous statement from the Venezuelan Ministry of Communication and Information, the death toll had been stated as 3,342, and the number of injured as 16,740.
