Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, issued a written statement on the matter.

THREAT OF FAMINE LOOMS

The United Nations had warned that 2.2 million people in the Gaza Strip, which is under intense Israeli attack, are facing the threat of famine.

According to the UN, 378,000 people in Gaza are facing level 5 hunger, described as "catastrophe" according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) scale, while 939,000 people are facing level 4 hunger, known as "emergency."
