Death toll from suicide bombing in Iran rises to 95

An 11-year-old girl who was injured in the suicide bombing that took place on January 3 near the cemetery where Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani's grave is located in Iran's Kerman province has passed away, bringing the death toll from the attack to 95.

According to information provided by Kerman Emergency Center Spokesperson Mohammad Saberi, 10 people are still receiving treatment in hospitals in Kerman and Tehran for injuries sustained in the attack. With the death of the 11-year-old girl, identified as Nazenin Açekzehi, who passed away today, the number of people who lost their lives in the attack has risen to 95.

The attack occurred in Kerman, where a memorial ceremony was being held for Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US strike in Baghdad in January 2020. Following the suicide bombings, authorities announced that the attacks were carried out by the terrorist organization ISIS. In the attacks, 94 people, including women and children, had lost their lives, and 284 people were injured.
