Death toll rises in Los Angeles wildfires

As wildfires continue to burn in Los Angeles, California, in the United States, the toll of the disaster continues to worsen. According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, the number of people who have lost their lives in the fires has risen to at least 16.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, who announced that 13 people have been recorded as missing, stated that they are working to confirm whether these disappearances are related to the fires.

It was reported that the Palisades fire, which has reduced 22,660 acres to ash, is 11 percent contained, while the Eaton fire, which has spread over 14,100 acres, is 15 percent contained; other smaller-scale fires in different parts of Los Angeles are also reported to be ongoing.

Officials, who announced that at least 153,000 people are under evacuation warnings, stated that at least 12,000 structures have been rendered unusable due to the fires.
