Death toll rises in Los Angeles wildfires

As the US attempts to recover from the wildfires that broke out on January 7 in the city of Los Angeles, California, the toll of the disaster has worsened once again.

According to information obtained from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, the death toll has risen to 29, with 12 people losing their lives in the Palisades Fire and 17 in the Eaton Fire.

In a statement from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, it was noted that the Palisades Fire, which spread over an area of 23 thousand 448 acres, is 95 percent contained. It was reported that the Eaton Fire, which spread over an area of 14 thousand 21 acres, has been 99 percent extinguished.

It was stated that a total of at least 16 thousand 291 structures have been rendered unusable, while 2 thousand 90 structures have sustained damage.
