The Department of Government Efficiency, a planned task force organization requested by current US President-elect Donald Trump in preparation for his second term as US president, has already become the talk of the day in America.
Unlike an official government department, the Department of Government Efficiency will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as an advisory commission.
Musk states that he believes such a commission could reduce the US federal budget by 2 trillion dollars.
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has supported this idea.
Some commentators are questioning whether DOGE represents a conflict of interest for Musk, given that his companies are contractors for the federal government.
