Dismissed minister blames prime minister on social media

UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman made harsh criticisms of Prime Minister Sunak in a letter she shared on her X account yesterday, following her dismissal by the Prime Minister.

In her letter, Suella Braverman argued that she had been successful during her tenure, stating, "I agreed to support you (Sunak) because of the firm assurances you gave me on key policy priorities, despite you having been rejected by a majority of party members in the leadership contest over the summer and thus having no personal mandate to be Prime Minister."

Accusing Sunak of "manifestly and repeatedly failing" to deliver on key policies regarding the reduction of illegal migration, the passage of migrant boats, and the Northern Ireland Protocol, Braverman charged the Prime Minister with betraying the promises he made to the public.

Braverman further claimed that, due to his failure to prevent the pro-Palestine march in London last week, Sunak was "uncertain, weak, and lacking in the qualities of leadership that the UK needs."

When a spokesperson for 10 Downing Street was asked about Braverman's criticisms of Prime Minister Sunak, they replied, "The Prime Minister believes in actions, not words."

'PALESTINE' DEBATES IN THE UK

Braverman, known for her stance against hate speech, anti-immigrant sentiment, and pro-Palestine solidarity demonstrations, was dismissed by the Prime Minister yesterday.

The tension that began after Suella Braverman accused the London police of "taking sides" for allowing pro-Palestine demonstrations, which started following Israel's attacks on Palestine, had led to intense debates and calls for her resignation.

Braverman had characterized the pro-Palestine solidarity marches held in London every week since October 14 as "hate marches" and accused the police of "applying double standards" when it came to pro-Palestine actions.

Prime Minister Sunak appointed Foreign Secretary James Cleverly to replace the dismissed Braverman yesterday. Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron became the new Foreign Secretary.
