Donald Trump begins selling Bibles online: 'My favorite book, only $59.99'

In a video posted on his social media account Truth Social, Donald Trump called on his voters to purchase a Bible.

Pointing to the "Good Friday" and "Easter" holidays to be celebrated this week, Trump stated, "Happy Holy Week! Let's make America pray again. As we lead up to Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the 'God Bless the USA Bible'."

In the video shared in his post, Trump said, "All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many. It's my favorite book. I'm proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible."

On the website where Trump directs users for the purchase, the Bible is being sold for 59.99 US Dollars.

The website states that the book, which features the US flag on its cover, was inspired by the song "God Bless the U.S.A." by country music artist Lee Greenwood, who supports Trump at his campaign rallies, and uses the phrase "The only Bible endorsed by President Trump."

It is stated that those who purchase the Bible will also be sent booklets containing the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

On the other hand, Trump's online Bible sales are being interpreted as a sign of the financial difficulties he has faced in recent months due to the compensation he is required to pay to a woman named E. Jean Carroll and the fines imposed in a real estate fraud case.

Magazine columnist Carroll was awarded a total of 88.3 million dollars in damages on January 26 following the lawsuits she filed alleging that Trump raped her in 1996. Trump appealed the decision but was required to post a 92 million dollar bond while the process continued.

Trump, who was also sentenced to a 454 million dollar fine in a separate "real estate fraud" case, was similarly required to provide at least 175 million dollars in bond for the appeal process, with a warning that his assets would otherwise be seized.

As part of his election campaign, Trump had previously offered items for sale on his website to raise funds, such as sneakers and trading cards featuring himself as an astronaut, a cowboy, and a superhero.
