In Nigeria, it has been announced that the Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist organization Boko Haram has kidnapped dozens of women and children who went to a wooded area to collect firewood.
The government did not provide information regarding the number of those kidnapped. However, in a report by the Nigerian newspaper Daily Trust, citing United Nations representative Muhammed Malik, it was reported that the number of kidnapped individuals is 200. In his statement, Malik emphasized that they strongly condemn the kidnapping of civilians living in a refugee camp.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Goni stated that the civilians were kidnapped in Borno state, in the northeast of the country.
Stating that the incident took place in the Gamboru-Ngala region on the Cameroon border, Goni noted that security forces have launched an operation to rescue the kidnapped civilians.
