Drone attack from Ukraine to Russia
Following drone (UAV) attacks launched by Ukraine against Russia, operations at airports in the cities of Izhevsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Penza, Tambov, and Ulyanovsk have been suspended.
Ukraine has targeted Russia with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated in an announcement that Russian air defense systems shot down a drone heading toward the capital, Moscow.
In a statement issued by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), it was reported that operations at airports in the cities of Izhevsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Penza, Tambov, and Ulyanovsk, located east and southeast of Moscow, have been suspended due to concerns regarding airspace safety.
Airport authorities in St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city, also stated that dozens of flights have been delayed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 32 drones were destroyed within a 3-hour period across various regions in the center of the country.
