Egypt and Bahrain condemn attack on US troops

In a written statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated: "Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place in a region on the Syrian border of Jordan, which led to the death of 3 US soldiers and the injury of a large number of US forces present in the region."

The statement emphasized that Egypt strongly condemns all forms of terrorist acts that threaten the security and stability of Jordan, and drew attention to the importance of combating terrorism and violence in all its forms to ensure stability in the region.

A statement from the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs also included the following: "Bahrain strongly condemns the terrorist attack that occurred near the Jordan-Syria border, which resulted in the death of 3 soldiers and the injury of others among the US forces cooperating with the Jordanian Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism and in protecting borders from arms and drug smuggling."

MESSAGE OF SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS

The statement, which expressed Bahrain's solidarity with Jordan and its support for the US in its cooperation to ensure border security, conveyed condolences to the US government, its people, and the families of those who lost their lives, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The statement reiterated Bahrain's stance against terrorism and extremist groups, as well as its support for international efforts to combat them.

US President Joe Biden announced in a written statement that 3 US soldiers had lost their lives in an attack carried out by an unmanned aerial vehicle on a US military base on the Jordan-Syria border, and the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that 25 people were injured in the attack.

The Jordanian government, for its part, had announced that the attack on US forces did not take place on its own territory, but at the Tanf base on the Syrian border.
