A spokesperson for the Paris Tower stated to AFP that the strike began ahead of collective bargaining negotiations, but did not clarify how long the employees' work stoppage would last.

The 134-year-old Eiffel Tower, one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world, is owned by the Paris Municipality.
