US President Donald Trump published a letter addressed to the people of Israel on his social media account. In the letter, Trump announced that he supports Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the elections to be held in Israel on October 27.
In his letter, which he began with the words "To the great people of Israel," Trump stated, "Netanyahu has been a great warrior in fighting Iran’s 51-year-old slogan of 'Death to Israel, death to America. We will destroy the little devil and the great devil.'
What country can survive when such things are allowed to be said? Because in the end, these words always turn into reality," he said.
Suggesting that it is only a matter of time before Iran puts these threats into action, Trump said, "However, Iran has been systematically destroyed both militarily and financially, and if they do not change their behavior quickly, we will finish the job soon."
Arguing that anyone other than Netanyahu would be the wrong leader for Israel, Trump stated that if Netanyahu is not re-elected, the US would have to fight against Iran alone, adding, "And I am not very willing to do that."

Suggesting that Netanyahu is a strong, brave, and brilliant leader despite facing great opposition, Trump said, "Despite all this, he endured, and even became more successful. I have observed Netanyahu during the most difficult times. In such situations, ordinary men or women would have been crushed under pressure. But he was not crushed; on the contrary, he became even stronger, and he maintains that same strength today. This is the partner the US expects from Israel, a country for which it has done so much."
Stating that the letter represents his support for Netanyahu in the election race in Israel, Trump said, "Netanyahu will never let you down."
