Elon Musk announces Tesla will use humanoid robots next year
Elon Musk, owner of the US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, has announced that the company will have humanoid robots for internal use next year.
In a post on his X account, Musk stated, "Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for internal use next year and hopefully high production for other companies in 2026."
In April, Musk had indicated that the Tesla robot, named Optimus, could be assigned to factory tasks by the end of this year and could be ready for sale by the end of 2025.
A prototype of the humanoid robot Optimus was introduced in 2022.
