Elon Musk, owner of the American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, has denied claims that he gifted a "Cybertruck" to Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, a federal subject of Russia.
Musk responded to a post on the X social media platform by an American columnist who had criticized him over the matter.
Refuting the claims that he had gifted the vehicle produced by his company to the Chechen leader, Musk said, "Are you seriously so stupid that I would donate a Cybertruck to a Russian general?"
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kadyrov had shared a video on his Telegram page showing him driving a "Cybertruck" with a machine gun mounted on it. In the post, Kadyrov announced that the vehicle would soon be sent to the military zone, expressed his gratitude to Musk, and invited him to the city of Grozny.
It is not yet known how the "Cybertruck" reached Russia, which is subject to import restrictions.
