Entry ban imposed on Osama bin Laden's son in France
It has been reported that an entry ban to France has been imposed on Omar bin Laden, the eldest son of the late Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announced in a post on his X account that Omar bin Laden has been banned from entering French territory.
Minister Retailleau recalled that Omar bin Laden, who had lived for many years in the Orne department of the Normandy region with his British citizen wife, had engaged in "terrorist propaganda" on his social media accounts in 2023, and that as a result of these posts, the Orne Prefecture had issued an order for bin Laden to leave the country.
Retailleau noted that this decision, taken for national security, was confirmed as lawful by the French judiciary and that the younger bin Laden has been barred from entering France for various reasons.
According to reports in the national press, the younger bin Laden lived in Orne from 2016 until he left the country in 2023.
Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011 during a raid conducted by US Special Forces on his home in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
