President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, aboard the private aircraft TC-TRK for official talks. Erdoğan was welcomed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his accompanying delegation.

Turkey's Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur Emir Salim Yüksel, Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, embassy staff, and other officials were also present for the welcome.

President Erdoğan was accompanied to Malaysia by his wife Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Council of Elders Chairman of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Binali Yıldırım, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.

Erdoğan will be awarded an honorary doctorate by Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre. President Erdoğan will address public employees and university students as part of the Turkey-Malaysia Strategic Cooperation in the New Century meeting.
