EU could impose a massive fine on Elon Musk

According to reports in the European press, the EU will consider the total revenue of all of Musk's companies when calculating the amount of a fine it may impose on X for violating laws.

Under the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), social media platforms are held responsible for illegal content and misinformation on their services. Failure to take measures in these areas can result in fines of up to 6 percent of the company's annual global revenue.

The EU is currently investigating whether X has violated Union rules in areas related to risk management, content moderation, dark patterns, advertising transparency, and data access for researchers.

The European Commission plans to take into account not only X's revenue but also Musk's other companies, such as SpaceX, Neuralink, xAI, and The Boring Company, in the event of a fine.

Tesla's revenues, however, will not be included in this calculation as it is a publicly traded company and is not entirely controlled by Musk.
