EU recalls vine leaves imported from Turkey: High levels of toxic substances detected

A notification issued by the European Union (EU) Commission's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) stated that brined vine leaves sent from Turkey to Germany have been recalled.

According to RASFF notification 2025.1666, high levels of pesticide residues were detected in the vine leaves in question. It was decided to withdraw the products from the market. Analyses revealed 5 different pesticide residues in the vine leaves. It was stated that these pesticides pose a potential risk to human health.

EU officials announced that the products did not comply with safety standards and that the recall was carried out to protect consumer health.

The RASFF announcement stated that Acetamiprid, Difenoconazole, Dithiocarbamate, Azoxystrobin, and Flutriafol pesticides were found in the vine leaves.
