CALL TO IMMEDIATELY END AID TO RUSSIA
During the meeting, High Representative Kallas pointed out that the support provided by Chinese companies to Russia in its war against Ukraine poses a threat to European security. The statement regarding the meeting said, "The High Representative called on China to immediately end all material support sustaining Russia's military industry and to support a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine based on full respect for the UN Charter, as well as an unconditional ceasefire."
KALLAS INVITES IRAN TO RETURN TO NUCLEAR NEGOTIATIONS
According to the statement, the situation in the Middle East was also discussed, and while the de-escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran was welcomed, High Representative Kallas stated that they have invited Iran to return to nuclear negotiations and that Europe is ready to mediate the talks. Emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Kallas also expressed the urgent need for the release of all hostages and the unhindered and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
