Explosion during disposal of unexploded ordnance in Iran: 14 dead

In Iran, an explosion occurred in the country's Zanjan province while work was underway to dispose of unexploded ordnance that had been dropped on the country during US-Israeli attacks.
According to reports in the Iranian press, 14 people from a special unit belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), tasked with neutralizing unexploded ordnance in the region, lost their lives as a result of the explosion.
It was also reported that 2 people were injured in the incident.
Iranian sources noted that the unexploded ordnance posed a risk to approximately 1,200 hectares of agricultural land.
