Explosion sounds were heard at the Port of Hodeidah, which is under the control of the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. In a statement made by a Houthi military official, it was claimed that Saudi Arabia had carried out an airstrike on the city of Hodeidah. Ameen Hayyan, Director of the Houthi Military Spokesperson's Office, said in his statement, "Currently, Saudi Arabian attacks are targeting the Port of Hodeidah. They have opened the gates of hell upon themselves."

No information has been shared regarding whether there were any casualties or damage in the incident. Saudi Arabian authorities have also not yet made a statement regarding the claim.

According to reports in the Yemeni press, a military source affiliated with the Houthis stated, "The response of Yemeni forces to Saudi Arabia's attacks will be harsh."

The Saudi-based Al Arabiya news channel, meanwhile, claimed that an explosion occurred in weapons depots in the city.

Saudi-flagged commercial vessel attacked in the Red Sea

The alleged attacks came after a Saudi-flagged commercial vessel sailing in the Red Sea was targeted. The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), citing an official from the General Authority for Transport, reported that the Saudi-flagged vessel named "NCC MASA" was attacked in the Red Sea and sustained minor damage to its hull.

SPA stated that after checks confirmed the vessel and its crew were safe, it continued its voyage on its planned route.
