Families of Israeli hostages begin march in Tel Aviv

Families of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip continue to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the release of their loved ones.

''BRING THEM HOME NOW''

The families have begun a 5-day march from the capital, Tel Aviv, to the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, a distance of approximately 65 kilometers, demanding that the Israeli government do more to secure the release of the hostages. Carrying photos of the captives, the families chanted "Bring them home now" during the march.

Shelly Shem Tov, a relative of one of the hostages, stated, "I demand that Benjamin Netanyahu and the cabinet answer us and take action. Where are you? Where are you?"

''FINDING A SOLUTION IS NOT MY JOB''

Amit Zach, a relative of a hostage, said, "I don't feel like we are in safe hands. We don't think we are receiving enough information. We have fallen into darkness. We want answers. I don't have a solution, but finding a solution is not my job. My job is to want my family back."

STATEMENT FROM HAMAS ON HOSTAGES

Abu Obeida, spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced yesterday that they were prepared to release around 70 women and children in exchange for a 5-day ceasefire and the release of 275 Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons. Obeida stated that Israel was avoiding the proposed deal and delaying it, adding that they were in contact with Qatari mediators regarding the matter.
It is estimated that approximately 240 people, ranging in age from 9 months to 85 years, are being held captive in the Gaza Strip. To date, Hamas has released a total of 4 hostages, and 1 hostage has been rescued through an operation conducted by the Israeli military.
