FBI: China-linked hackers are lying in wait to attack US infrastructure
FBI Director Christopher Wray has reported that China-linked hackers are lying in wait to attack the country's critical infrastructure.
According to a report by the New York Post, FBI Director Christopher Wray spoke at an event held at Vanderbilt University in the US.
Wray stated that China-linked hackers are on alert and waiting for the right moment to attack US critical infrastructure, such as water treatment plants, power grids, transportation, and information technology.
THEY WANT TO BREAK THE PUBLIC'S WILLPOWER
Explaining that the FBI and other federal officials are working behind the scenes to counter this threat, Wray argued that China wants to create panic and break the public's willpower by attacking civilian infrastructure.
Claiming that China is working aggressively to "steal" intellectual property, technology, and research from US industry, Wray noted that this threat is now at the doorstep.
Wray had issued a similar warning in his speech to members of the US House of Representatives on January 31.
