Film starring Lale Mansur and Deniz Türkali wins award at 37th Tokyo International Film Festival
Turkish director, screenwriter, and editor Emine Yıldırım won the Asian Future Award for her film "Day Apollo Night Athena" at the closing ceremony of the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival held in Japan's capital, Tokyo.
Written and directed by Emine Yıldırım and starring Ezgi Çelik and Barış Gönenen, Day Apollo Night Athena returned with a major award from the Tokyo International Film Festival, where it held its premiere.

As the only production from Turkey in the Asian Future section of the Tokyo Film Festival, the cast of Day Apollo Night Athena also includes names such as Selen Uçer, Gizem Bilgen, Melih Düzenli, and Neyra Kayabaşı, alongside Çelik and Gönenen.
The film also draws attention for featuring master actors Deniz Türkali and Lale Mansur, who reunite on screen after many years.

The plot of Day Apollo Night Athena is as follows:
It follows the fantastic and entertaining adventure of a woman who grew up in an orphanage as she sets out in hopes of finding her mother's ghost. The story is hosted by the ancient city of Side, with its history that defies millennia.

Produced by Dilde Mahalli (Rosa Film) and Emine Yıldırım (Ursula Film), the cinematography of Day Apollo Night Athena is handled by Barış Aygen, with editing by Selda Taşkın. The film's music is composed by Barış Diri.
