The US Naval Forces Central Command announced that 2 sailors were slightly injured in a fire that broke out in the laundry room of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, which is deployed in the Middle East.

The statement said, "Two sailors are currently receiving medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition. The ship's propulsion system did not sustain any damage and the aircraft carrier remains fully operational."
It was noted that further information regarding the incident would be shared with the public as it becomes available.
The statement also recalled that the Ford aircraft carrier is operating in the Red Sea to support military activities conducted by the US as part of its "Operation Epic Fury" against Iran.
