The first death from bird flu has been recorded in Mexico. A 3-year-old girl in the state of Coahuila has died from H5N1 bird flu.
State Health Minister Eliud Aguirre stated that the child died early in the morning and that the infection caused multi-organ failure.
Aguirre said, "We are monitoring all individuals who had close contact with the patient and are conducting tests to determine if they are infected. So far, no one has tested positive."
