A flood disaster has occurred in the Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia. Making a statement regarding the flood disaster that took place yesterday, Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan said, “As of this morning, rescue operations have resumed.

More than 100 teams from the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working at the scene. 429 people have been evacuated from various points in the Lori and Tavush regions.

The bodies of 4 people have been recovered in the disaster area,” he said.

“17 BRIDGES COLLAPSED"

Stating that there is also heavy destruction in the region due to the flood disaster, Sanosyan said, “A total of 17 bridges have collapsed. Some of these are small bridges. However, 5 large bridges have also collapsed, and it will take great effort and time to restore them.

As a result of the collapse of these bridges, serious problems have arisen regarding connections to residential areas. Solutions have been found for small settlements, and there is no connection problem for these places.

However, connection problems have arisen due to the collapse of the large bridges,” he stated.
