WHAT HAPPENED?
Following a meeting with Aliyev on the Azerbaijan-Iran border, the helicopter carrying Raisi and his delegation made a hard landing on the return journey in the Dizmar forest between the villages of Berazin and Ardeshiri in Iran's East Azerbaijan province.
During the search and rescue efforts that continued throughout the night, Iranian authorities, directed to the location identified by Turkey's Akıncı UAV towards morning, found the wreckage of the helicopter.
Making the first statement on the matter, Iranian Red Crescent President Pirhossein Kolivand stated that they were trying to reach the area and said that the chances of survival for the Iranian President and those with him were low.
