Ford to recall 1.9 million vehicles
It has been reported that Ford, one of the major U.S. automakers, will recall approximately 1.9 million "Explorer" model vehicles in the U.S. due to a hardware issue.
In a statement by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it was noted that the recall decision covers "Explorer" model vehicles produced between 2011 and 2019.
The statement noted that some of the trim pieces on the windshields of the vehicles in question were not properly seated due to faulty assembly or repair, and that they could detach while driving, posing a danger to other drivers and increasing the risk of accidents.
The statement, which indicated that approximately 1.9 million vehicles would be recalled, stated that vehicle owners would begin receiving notifications regarding the issue starting March 13.
