Foreign Ministry comments on ceasefire! 'We welcome it'

As tensions between Israel and Iran continue, a statement was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement noted that reports regarding a ceasefire between the two countries were welcomed. It further added, "However, we are closely following reports that the ceasefire has been violated."

The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is as follows:
"We welcome the reports that an agreement has been reached on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
However, we are closely following reports that the ceasefire has been violated.
We invite the parties to fully adhere to the ceasefire during this critical period ahead.
In this period, when the Middle East needs peace and stability more than ever, steps toward a comprehensive and lasting solution must be taken with determination. In this context, we believe that keeping channels of dialogue and diplomacy open is of vital importance.
The ongoing process has once again shown that the Palestinian issue, which lies at the root of many problems in the Middle East, must be resolved as soon as possible.
Turkey is ready to support all efforts toward ensuring peace in the region and to provide constructive contributions."
