Former Chilean President Pinera dies in helicopter crash
Former Chilean President Sebastian Pinera has lost his life in a helicopter crash that occurred in the town of Lago Ranco, located in Chile's Ranco province.
Reports in the Chilean press, citing government sources, stated that there were 4 people on board the helicopter, including 74-year-old Pinera, and that 3 people survived the crash with injuries.
The cause of the helicopter crash is not yet known.
Pinera served as president for two terms, between 2010-2014 and 2018-2022.
