Former minister kills his wife!
Kuandyk Bishimbayev, the former Minister of Economy of Kazakhstan, has been found guilty of murdering his wife, Saltanat Nukenova. Sentenced to 24 years in prison by the court, Bishimbayev denied torturing his wife or planning to kill her.
Kazakhstan's former Minister of Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Saltanat Nukenova. The 44-year-old Kuandyk Bishimbayev was found guilty of torture and murder by the court.
Throughout the trial, Bishimbayev claimed he was innocent and attempted to prove that his wife had harmed herself, but security camera footage from a restaurant revealed his crime.
KILLED BY STRANGULATION
Security camera footage played during the hearing shows Bishimbayev repeatedly punching and kicking his 31-year-old wife, and dragging her by her hair while she was nearly naked into the room where she was later found dead.
In the footage, Bishimbayev is seen first beating his wife severely, and then causing her death by strangling her.

VIDEOS FOUND ON MOBILE PHONE
Furthermore, videos were found on Bishimbayev's mobile phone in which he is seen insulting and demeaning Nukenova, who was covered in blood during the final hours before she lost consciousness.
During the trial, Bishimbayev admitted to beating his wife but claimed that some of her injuries were self-inflicted. He denied torturing her or planning to kill her.
HAD BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF BRIBERY
Bishimbayev served as Minister of Economy from May to December 2016.
In 2018, he was found guilty of bribery and sentenced to 10 years in prison, but he was released in less than three years thanks to an amnesty and parole.
