According to unofficial results in the second round of Finland's presidential election, former Prime Minister Alexander Stubb has reportedly finished ahead in the race.

Former Prime Minister Stubb leads in Finland's presidential election

According to the YLE news agency, unofficial results from the second round of the presidential election show that the National Coalition Party candidate, former Prime Minister Stubb, finished the race ahead of his rival, former Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto.

Stubb received 51.6 percent of the vote, while Haavisto received 48.4 percent.

Although former Prime Minister Alexander Stubb finished ahead in the presidential election held in Finland on January 28, the election went to a second round because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote.

Former Prime Minister Stubb had finished the race in the lead with 27.2 percent of the vote, while former Foreign Minister Haavisto had placed second with 25.8 percent of the vote.
