It was noted that the investigation, opened over suspicions that X's algorithm was manipulated for the purpose of "foreign interference," is based on two separate reports received in January.
In the reports filed by a French member of parliament and a high-level official working in French public institutions, it was alleged that X's algorithm was used in favor of foreign actors and that the platform opened the door to attempts at foreign interference.
The investigation will be conducted by the National Gendarmerie's Cybercrime unit.
