France sees 'same' prime minister appointment
French President Emmanuel Macron has reappointed Sebastien Lecornu, who had resigned as Prime Minister of France, to the position.
French President Emmanuel Macron has reappointed Sebastien Lecornu, who resigned from his post as prime minister earlier this week, as prime minister.
According to a written statement from the Elysee Palace, Macron reappointed Lecornu as prime minister and tasked him with forming a government.
Macron met with representatives of political parties in the National Assembly at the Elysee Palace during the day to discuss the government crisis in the country.
The far-right National Rally (RN) and the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) parties were not invited to the meeting.
