France threatens Russia with sanctions
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that they will impose new sanctions on Russia if it does not accept a ceasefire with Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron has made statements regarding the ceasefire currently on the agenda between Russia and Ukraine.
Macron announced that they would impose new sanctions on Russia if it does not accept a ceasefire with Ukraine, stating, "Our intention is to impose new sanctions on Russia in the coming days. We are in coordination on this matter."
Macron noted that the sanctions would target Russia's financial services as well as its oil and natural gas industries.
Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine are expected to meet in Istanbul on May 15.
