Citizens in West Cornwall reported hearing a "noise" and feeling a "tremor" as if a truck had crashed into their homes.
Citizens in the United Kingdom experienced great fear due to the tremor that occurred. Residents of West Cornwall, where the earthquake took place, stated that they heard "loud bangs."
The British Geological Survey announced that the earthquake occurred today at 12:50 PM at a depth of 13 kilometers.
A spokesperson for the British Geological Survey said, "We have received reports from residents in Helston, Penzance, and Camborne in Cornwall that this event was felt."
According to seismic reports, earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.5 and below are generally not felt, although they can be recorded by a seismograph. Damage to buildings and infrastructure usually does not occur until the earthquake magnitude rises above four or five.
