Frightening warning from the Kremlin: European capitals would be the potential victims of US missiles

Tensions between the West and Russia have risen once again following the announcement that the US will deploy long-range weapons to Germany starting in 2026.

In an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "There is a paradoxical situation here.

Europe is the target of our missiles, and our country is the target of US missiles in Europe.

We have the potential to stop these missiles, but in such a scenario, the potential victims would be the capitals of these (European) countries."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In a joint written statement issued by the US and German governments during the recent NATO Summit, it was announced that the US would begin the permanent deployment of long-range weapons in Germany in 2026.

It was stated that the long-range weapons consist of SM-6 missiles, Tomahawk strategic cruise missiles, and hypersonic weapons currently under development, emphasizing that all of these would have a much greater range than the current land-based systems in Europe.

The statement noted, "This demonstrates the US commitment to NATO and its contribution to European deterrence."
