In a statement made by Brazilian authorities, it was reported that the data extraction operations carried out at the laboratory affiliated with the Brazilian Air Force were completed as of yesterday.
The statement indicated that the data obtained from the black boxes had been delivered to Kazakh authorities.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane, carrying 67 people on a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed while attempting an emergency landing in the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan.
38 people lost their lives in the accident, while 29 people survived. It was stated that the plane was hit by a Russian air defense system as it approached Grozny, and was subsequently diverted to Aktau.
Russian President Putin called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to apologize, as the incident that led to the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane occurred in Russian airspace.
It was reported that the decision to send the black boxes to Brazil was made because the AZAL plane was manufactured in Brazil.
