Syrian rebels on the verge of entering Aleppo

Clashes between Bashar al-Assad regime forces and anti-regime armed groups continue in Syria's Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

The clashes first began early yesterday morning in the western countryside of Aleppo province and continued throughout the day.

Having seized control of 32 villages and points in western Aleppo yesterday, the armed groups took control of an additional 24 villages and points in Aleppo and Idlib provinces today.

The settlements and points captured by anti-regime groups in the western countryside of Aleppo include El Ragib Hill, Kuptan Mountain, Debbabat Hill, the town of Ancara, the 46th Regiment, as well as Kefer Besme, Basartun, Hur, Elkasimiyye, Acil, Bele, Sellum, Kefer Bissin, Sheikh Akil, Hırderkal, Acemi, Ürumsugra, Uveycil, El Hüte, El Dab'a, Urum Elkübra, Bişantara, Bakdina, Cemiyet Elmaari, Cemiyet Ebu Amşe, Cemiyet Emin, Cemiyet Manahil, Cemiyet er Rıdvan, Mühendisin, Arnaz, Kefernaha, Kanasel, Kefercum, Sheikh Ali, Yaged Elades, Babis, Kefer Naha, Arrade, Mühendisin 2, Başkatin, Zirbe, Mansura, Cemiyet, Er Rahhal, Şuun Elidara, Kemari, İkarde, Elberkum, Miznaz, Keferdeal, and the strategically important Kefer Halep. These areas were previously under the control of the Assad regime.

The anti-regime groups, which have approached within one kilometer of the outer neighborhoods of Aleppo city and seized control of an area of approximately 400 square kilometers, also attacked the Aleppo Neyrab Military Airport with drones in the early hours of the day and destroyed a helicopter.

The Assad regime targeted civilian settlements with surface-to-surface weapons while the clashes were ongoing.

DOZENS OF REGIME SOLDIERS TAKEN PRISONER

Anti-regime armed groups seized heavy weapons, depots, and military vehicles belonging to the Assad regime in the areas they captured. Many regime soldiers died in the clashes, and the armed groups took dozens of regime soldiers prisoner.

Approximately 10 thousand civilians fleeing the clashes in the region have taken refuge in the Idlib countryside.

The clashes are intensifying and continuing toward the center of Aleppo city.

ARMED GROUPS CAPTURE 6 VILLAGES IN EASTERN IDLIB

As the intensity of the clashes continues to rise, new fronts were formed this morning.

Clashes began in the morning in the Serakip region, located in the east of Idlib province in the northwest of the country.

Anti-regime groups captured the villages of Trimbe, Dadih, Keferbattih, Cubas, Şabur, and Mardih, which were under the control of the Assad regime.
