Gangs have launched an attack on a prison in Haiti.

Armed gangs raided the Croix des Bouquets Prison in the capital, Port-au-Prince, and clashed with security forces.

12 INMATES DIED, 3,600 INMATES ESCAPED

During the clash, 3,600 inmates escaped from the prison, while 12 people lost their lives.

In a statement from the Haitian government, it was reported that criminal organizations attacked the prison in the early hours of the morning and that the gunmen fled the area as a result of police resistance.

On the other hand, it was shared that there were 17 Colombian citizens in the prison raided by the gangs and that the Colombian government is in contact with Haitian authorities.

According to local media, in addition to 4 police officers losing their lives in the attacks that have occurred over the last 3 days, dozens of people have been injured.

Thousands of people, who have been organizing protests for some time demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, frequently clash with the police.
