Gaston Glock dies at 94
Austrian engineer and businessman Gaston Glock, the inventor of the world's most well-known handgun, the Glock, has died at the age of 94.
According to a report by the Austrian newspaper Krone, the "gun king" Glock has passed away at the age of 94.
Gaston Glock founded the "GLOCK" company in the state of Lower Austria in 1963 and produced knives for the Austrian army in the 1970s.

In the early 1980s, engineer Glock revolutionized the handgun market by developing the semi-automatic Glock pistol, which became one of the most well-known handguns in the world and is the most widely used by law enforcement agencies across the globe.
According to company data, more than 65 percent of federal, state, and local security institutions in the U.S. currently use Glock brand pistols.
