Gaza government reports Israel has killed 400 people at Al-Shifa Hospital

In a statement from the government's Media Office, it was stated that the Israeli army has kept Al-Shifa Hospital under siege and conducted raids for 13 days, while also destroying and burning homes in its vicinity.

The statement reported that the number of homes targeted around the hospital has reached 1,050, and that the Israeli army has detained and tortured hundreds of patients, displaced persons, and medical staff at the hospital and its surroundings, killing more than 400 people.

The statement added, "The occupation army is still holding 107 patients and 60 medical staff captive in inhumane conditions at Al-Shifa Hospital, without water, medicine, food, or electricity."

Israel is blocking all attempts to evacuate these patients through international institutions, which puts the lives of the patients at risk.

The Gaza government held "the American administration, the international community, and some European countries fully responsible for participating in the genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip."

The government called on "international organizations and Arab and Islamic countries to move beyond silence and condemnation and take real measures to stop the genocide attacks, the attacks on hospitals, and the destruction."

WHAT HAS HAPPENED SINCE OCTOBER 7 IN ISRAEL'S OCCUPATION OF GAZA

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, citing "continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque" as the reason.

Israel announced that 1,200 Israelis were killed and 5,132 people were injured in the October 7 attacks.

In the attacks launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 32,705 Palestinians, including at least 14,280 children and 9,340 women, have been killed, and 75,190 people have been injured.

While it is reported that there are still thousands of dead under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is also being destroyed by targeting hospitals and educational institutions where people have taken shelter.

The Israeli army announced that 598 of its soldiers have been killed since October 7, when the attacks on the Gaza Strip began, 253 of whom were killed during the ground invasion process.

During the "humanitarian pause" in the clashes, which was granted for 4 days on November 24, 2023, and later extended for another 3 days, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange. On the other hand, Israel continued to detain and imprison thousands of Palestinians.

In the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, 455 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers since October 7, 2023.

According to the latest data, in the clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah that have been ongoing since October 8, 2023, 261 Hezbollah members, 53 Lebanese civilians, 12 members of the Amal Movement, 13 members of Hamas, 14 members of Islamic Jihad, as well as 7 Israeli civilians and 11 soldiers have been killed.
