Geert Wilders, who emerged victorious in the elections, stated that he would not be prime minister because he could not reach an agreement with the parties he was negotiating with to form a coalition government.
Wilders released a statement on his X account, saying, "I could only become prime minister if all parties in the coalition supported it. That was not the case. My love for my country and my voters is more important than my position."
In a subsequent statement, Wilders shared the message, "I will be with the support of even more Dutch people. If not tomorrow, then the day after. The voice of millions of Dutch people will be heard!"
The far-right PVV party, led by Wilders, managed to become the leading party in the elections held in November, exceeding expectations. However, the PVV, which could not reach the number of seats required for a majority, had been negotiating with other parties to form a coalition government.
