Later that evening, following a workshop of the Christian Union parties (CDU/CSU), Chancellor Merz criticized the US again with similarly striking remarks.

Chancellor Merz stated that he was disappointed with the US and Israel due to their stance on Iran, saying, "Yes, I am disappointed about this, and the reason is very simple.

The United States and Israel assumed from the very beginning that this problem would be solved in a few days, and what we must understand today is that the problem has not been solved," he said.

Chancellor Merz expressed that, given the expectation that no agreement can be expected between the US and Iran in the near future, they are trying to find a solution through diplomatic channels as Europeans.

Merz remarked, "I mentioned some time ago that Germany's diplomatic efforts toward Iran have resumed. We are in close coordination with the American side on this matter, but at the same time, we have our own European vision and ideas on how this conflict can be resolved. I hope we succeed in this. However, I am not certain."
